(More customer reviews)I bought this bike a few months ago for exercise and neighborhood trips. I now have over 200 trouble-free miles on it, and I feel I have made a good choice. It is a nice comfortable ride, with a seat stem spring and a front suspension. The click-shifters work great!
Assembly was not a trivial job, and the manual did little to help. The manual was written for a range of Forge bikes, so it will be your job to find the parts of it that pertain to your bike. Be sure that you have a set of metric Alan wrenches. Most of the critical adjustments came already correct on my bike. You should only need to adjust the front brake after you have assembeled the bike.
I have added a rear luggage carrier and a bike computer to my bike. It does not come from the factory with a kickstand, and could use one. Don't forget to buy a helmet and a bike lock!
1000-MILE UPDATE: I now have 1000 miles on my bike. Except for the normal flat tires, I have had no mechanical problems. So far, this has been a very good bike for me.

Forge Saranac CM is a great crossover bike, innovatively designed for handling a wide range of terrain, from paved pathways to light dirt trails. Powered by front and rear Shimano Altus derailleur and drivetrain with KMC chain and Shimano cassette, Saranac stands alone in overall quality. This Comfort Mountain Series unites the best of both worlds: a quality SR NEX shock in the front fork, WTB Comfort V Comp saddle and seat post suspension, adjustable stem for comfort or performance, an all Aluminum double butted quality frame and 26x1.95" mountain/hybrid tires. Note: Frame size is determined by measuring the distance from the center of the bottom bracket (the bolt that locks in the crank) to the top of the seat tube. Stand-over height is determined by measuring the distance from the ground to the top tube. A bike that you ride only on paved surfaces and never take off road should give you a minimum stand-over height clearance of 2", a bike that you ride on unpaved surfaces should give you a minimum of 3" of stand-over height clearance and a bike that you ride off road should give you a minimum of 4" of stand-over height clearance.
