It does not stay on as long as some more sticky greases but I do not find it to be a problem since I clean my chain regularly anyway. It does pick up dirt since it is not a "dry" lube, but I tried dry and this is much better. Just clean your chain when it starts to get dirty and dry, by taking an old sock or some other piece of fabric and running the chain through the sock for 20-30 seconds. Put on some lube, run the chain through the sock again, put some more lube, and gently remove excess with the sock. This works great for me and keeps my bike running smoothly.
