* PAIR of TIRES * Maxxis Radiale 3C Compound 700 x 23 Aramid Bead All Black.
These are a new and worthwhile improvement in bicycle tires. They are a high pressure tire, 145 lbs. Max. and together with being radial you get optimal low rolling resistance. The traction is greater because a radial causes no squirm of tire on surface and that should also mean less wear. The 23 is 10 grams heavier than the 22 x 700 and I believe the only difference is the 10 grams of rubber compound is put on the sides for greater cornering ability of the 23c. If you don't do a lot of hard cornering and 10 grams lighter is important to you then the 22 is for you. I would add though the extra rubber compound adds greater protection to the sides of the tire. Yes a premium bike tire is expensive and for a lot of reasons more desirable for the demands of the user. These tires are available at Amazon.com.
