(More customer reviews)I was looking to convert my hardtail mountain bike into a city commuter bike, and decided to change out the front suspension fork for a rigid fork. When I did that, the front of the bike lost about 5 inches of height, which brings the handlebars WAY below the height of my seat, making my riding posture too uncomfortably aggressive. To fix that, I had to use an angled stem to raise the handlebars.
My bike had a 130mm stem with 6-degrees of rise, and a clamp for 25mm-diameter handlebars. The only 130mm stem with a 35-degree rise I can find on Amazon is this Eleven81 stem with a clamp for 31.8mm-diameter handlebars. Fortunately, I also found shims on Amazon for adapting 25mm-dia. handlebars to a stem with 31.8mm clamp, so I ordered those as well.
When both the shims and stem arrived, I put everything together on my bike and it all fit nicely, and my commuter bike project was complete. I'm very happy with the results and glad I ordered these items from Amazon.
