(More customer reviews)I ride a junker through the winter in Chicago and I've had some adventures finding the right tire to make it through the moderate-to-awful conditions you can find on the road on any given day. With fenders on there's not enough clearance for studded tires so I've been looking for something with tread that will still roll for a couple of winters now. I started with some cross tires, switched to kevlar-lined armadillos, and decided to try the fyxation 23's this winter. So far I've been impressed with them to the point that I think I've found the tire I'm sticking with.
I'm not doing any skidding so the tread has held up great, and the 23s are skinny enough to slice through any slush or snow that's still on the road. It's been two months, the last of it with plenty of snow to get through, and I feel like these tires can handle anything the conditions have to offer. If you're in a similar situation and want something that will get the job done these are your answer.
