(More customer reviews)I bought two pairs of these to outfit two vintage touring bikes for use on gravel and grassy trails as well as paved roads. The tires perform very well on gravel and reasonably smooth hiking trails. At 70 psi, there is only a small penalty in rolling resistance on paved roads compared to higher pressure road tires. The size runs a little small; they actually measure just barely 1 1/4 inch wide and nowhere near the 37 mm metric equivalent on the sidewall. (The old 1 1/8 inch tires actually measured 1 1/8 inch wide on these rims.) Overall, I am happy with both the tires and the reasonable price.

(More customer reviews)The problem I have with my pair of tires is that they bulge at the valve stem portion and don't sit straight in the rims.
When I dry mounted them to stretch, I noticed that they had hops and tread wander. It didn't look like it was going to be an easy job to seat them well in the rim once I was working with glue.
And sure enough, it was a bear to try to get them straight when I was pulling them against the glue (Vittoria Mastik One). The rear worked out okay; the front definitely had one patch that just didn't want to sit in the center of the rim. And both tires inflate thicker at the valve stem portion than the rest of the tire.
We're talking about 3 mm of wander, travel and hop, maybe more. Inflated up to 70 psi, I can feel them out of round on smooth pavement. Apart from that undulating, they grip and ride nice. It's possible I just got a nonrepresentative poorly made pair, but I'm going to try a different brand next time.

Salsa Top Mount Brake Levers, Polished Review

(More customer reviews)If you are into the smooth, Italian designs of the shiny, old-school Campy parts, you will love these levers. Every part of the lever is brushed-metal, and very high quality aluminum. The bushing-pivots make the action of the levers flawless. They even come with their own shims (of the same high quality production) to fit down to 26.0mm bars. They would probably fit tightly on 25.4mm bars, too.
They cost more because they are premium. These really are brakes to last a lifetime. They are almost too pretty to put on the bike!!
My only gripe is that the metal on the levers is so smooth that you need some sort of tacky material to make them more comfortable. It would be nice if they were gnurled for traction.
