(More customer reviews)I'm just getting my bike back in shape for some summer riding and been on these for a month now. This tire suits my needs for something inexpensive and decent quality. No, they aren't racing tires, and you might look elsewhere if you're a daily commuter or like to take your bike on paths...but I'm happy with the way they roll compared to the 8 year old balding Kendas I had before. In case anyone cares about the actual look of the tire, the walls of this tire are yellow/tan, not black, and there is some amount of rubber run-over on the tread, easily handled by a pair of scissors. Tires shipped safe, but there was a delay of a week in shipping. Would I buy them again? Yep.

(More customer reviews)I bought two pairs of these to outfit two vintage touring bikes for use on gravel and grassy trails as well as paved roads. The tires perform very well on gravel and reasonably smooth hiking trails. At 70 psi, there is only a small penalty in rolling resistance on paved roads compared to higher pressure road tires. The size runs a little small; they actually measure just barely 1 1/4 inch wide and nowhere near the 37 mm metric equivalent on the sidewall. (The old 1 1/8 inch tires actually measured 1 1/8 inch wide on these rims.) Overall, I am happy with both the tires and the reasonable price.

(More customer reviews)(I have purchased both the front and rear wheel of this set, and the reviews are identical) These are some heavy wheels, right around 3lbs, but they are sturdy and should withstand some potholes. The hubs are initially tight but smooth out after a week of riding. My largest complaint is about the rims. First, they are not beaded, so make sure your tires are not too loose (in diameter). Second, where the rims are welded into a circle, the outside of the wall has a very noticeable dip. This becomes apparent when you apply your brakes: thump, thump, thump. Third, there are about 20 small holes on the inside of the rim, about the diameter of a spoke hole. These holes have sharp edges and are begging to pierce your inner-tube. They sit too high on the walls for a standard rim strip to cover. If you want to cover them, you'd have to buy a lot of rim tape and do up the whole inside of the rim.
Concerning the 2nd point, I actually returned the front wheel thinking it was a lemon, but the replacement wheel was almost identical in the dip at weld location. The same is true of the rear wheel.

ACTION WHEEL ALLOY 700 REAR TRACK ALEX RP15F SILVER Review

(More customer reviews)For a cheap conversion to fixed gear, this is perfect. I'm not a huge skidder, so it doesn't really matter to me how strong the hub is. I've been using it in a pretty tall gear (49/14) and it hasn't had any problems yet. It's a bit heavy, but it doesn't pretend to be a racing wheel. A month on Chicago streets, and it's still true. No complaints yet. Oh, it doesn't say it in the description, but mine came with a 14 tooth cog. Another bonus.

It looks like someone was toodling down the sidewalk with it and an overweight baby plowed into them. No complaints about the performance of the wheel as I haven't used it yet, but I've gotten hit by cars and had my wheels pretty whacked out, and then gotten them back from the shop truer than this bad boy.

My son has used one at college for more than a year and put on couple hundred miles - the tires still look good. I use the other. They ride well - wet or dry. One flat from a small nail - it went right through. Other than that they have been pretty tough.

(More customer reviews)If you are using your bike for commuting, i strongly suggest this product. It works very well with vintage bikes (they are typically heavy and this tire grabs the tarmac). However, if you have a nice road bike and if you are going for fast rides (like more than 35mph) this might not be what you are looking for. It holds 90psi so it is relatively well pressured, but it is not as high as performance tires (with 110psi).
And dont pay $$ to bikeshops for tire replacement. Look youtube vids if you dont know how to change it. Very easy and cheap way of getting a new tire.
p.s Even if i ordered black/tan, they shipped black/gum. I believe they dont have black/tan so they just keep ordering black/gum. I am not a black/tan fanatic, but if you are beware of this.

Most shops wanted more for replacement tires than the bicycle was worth. The best price I was able to find was these on the Amazon site. They fit perfectly and will hopefully give a few more years of use to the old bike.
