(More customer reviews)This item was impossible to find at local cycle shops, so I had to purchase it on specifications (and faith). I was not disappointed, the unit is very light weight and relatively compact- just what I wanted.
The only minor difficulty was the bracket (to mount a rear reflector) was inserted in the main support tube. Instructions did not indicate this, and the fixture, contained within a plastic bag, was lodged within the tube (some 10" deep). WIth my wife's acumen, knitting needles and finally a drain unclogging tool, we we able to coax out the fixture. Don't let this detail scare you off- it's a great product!

Delta Bike Hitch Locking Fork Mount Review

(More customer reviews)I bough two of these new Delta fork mounts for my wife's Xterra (I built my own interior rack using an L-shaped piece of sheet-metal, and attached these mounts).
Pros: In the previous Delta fork mount, getting the arm lined up for the locking position took several tries, but now the new design just goes right into place.
Cons: Once the lever arm is closed, you really have to work your fingers or possibly a tool into the gap to open it. In the end, this is for the best as you don't want this thing opening up without some force.
Summary: Use these to make your own bike rack using 2X6 planks in the back of your truck, or go to the hardware store and get creative with your SUV.....

Delta Alloy Threadless Bicycle Headset Adapter Review

(More customer reviews)This product looks good and fits my threaded 1" fork just fine. It's secure and sturdy, and the quill bolt is nice and strong.
However, it creaks annoyingly and loudly. If I loosen the quill bolt and tighten it back, the creaking goes away for an hour, but then it creeps back. I've tried lubricating the whole thing, but no luck. I'm shopping for another brand now.

Delta Mega Rack Post Porter Seat Post Rack with Pannier Support Review

(More customer reviews)If you need to buy a seat-post type rack because you have a suspension-type bicycle, this rack works well for bicycle commuting. If you have a traditional "hardtail" bicycle, I would stick to a traditional rack. Previous reviewers reported two problems and I road-tested this rack against their comments.
(1) First problem reported by another reviewer was the rack not staying in place. I didn't have this problem at all. Remember to tighten the screws alternately a little at a time (top right, then bottom left, then top left, then bottom right). Tighten screws alternately and repeat several times until all screws are tight, and your rack shouldn't slide. (Don't tighten one screw all the way then go on to the next; alternate each a little at a time so the tension is even.)
(2) Second problem reported by another reviewer was the loaded bike bags bumped into the spokes and caused damage. I tested the bags at both the 25-pound limit and the 40-pound limit. If you turn sharply, get up speed, or go over a bump, the loaded bags can definitely bump into your spokes. You wouldn't want to fully load the bags for cross-country or sport riding. I just use my bike to commute to work, so I tested it by stopping on the way home to get groceries. At 25-pounds (bread, milk, canned food), there is no real problem, but at 40-pounds (one bag of cat litter loaded on each side), the right-hand bag did tend to bump my spokes if I got up any speed. So if you fully load your bags, go very slow & easy. Try the hard-sided "grocery getter" bags from Sunlite brand.
