It fits suprisingly snugly over my road seat.
It doesn't look too dorky. But of course, I'm a 40-something commuter so I may have a higher tolerance for the dork-factor.
It eliminates a tremendous amount of shock to the rear.
I considered purchasing a new seat, but this was quicker, easier, cheaper, and does the job well.
Make sure you lower your seat post, this thing adds a bit of height.
