But for some reason it has developed a very annoying squeak that I can't get rid of no matter how much grease or lube I use. It seems to be very finiky in that regard try the sram Force instead it is much cheaper and almost the exact same thing.

Shimano SL-BS77 Dura Ace Double/Triple Bar End Shifters (9-Speed) Review

(More customer reviews)These are super shifters. They feel solid and they stay in place well. At first I put them together wrong and was only getting 5 clicks instead of the 8 you would expect from 9 speed indexing shifters, but after trying again they indexed flawlessly. They come with cables and special SIS compressionless housing. It seems touring bicyclist prefer these to integrated brakes/gear shifters I assume because they are more reliable and easier to adjust. The location on the drop bars is certainly as convenient as having the shifters integrated with the brakes.

Shimano CN-6600 Ultegra 10-Speed Chain Review

(More customer reviews)I've used the CN-6600 chains for a long time and have always been pleased with their performance. However, on my rebuilt bike the new CN-6700 chain was installed. @ about 1,000 miles for no apparent reason a stiff link developed. In IMHO the bike comapnies are pushing the envelope toooooo far. Cutting the sides out of the plates of the links and hollow pins to make the chain a bit lighter. While the 6700 chain is asymetrical and supposed to shift better...I notice no difffrence in shifting from the excellent 6600 model. So as long as I can get my hands on the 6600 that's the chain I'll use. I ride about 6,000 miles a year and change chains every 2.000 miles.

Shimano 105 CN-5600 Chain Review

(More customer reviews)It's a 10-speed chain, and it works. 'nuff said. The only complaint is that it comes with a single master link pin rather than two (these used to come with two). Since breaking the master link significantly weakens the chain (especially on 10-speed chains), you need to hope that you do it right the first time and you never have to break the chain open for maintenance. Would have no complaints had they just thrown a second master link pin in here...
