(More customer reviews)These are great when you want the traditional look of wrapped bars, yet a bit more squishy. Another option is to get foam grips but they are thicker and would not normally have a wrap on them. With this, it is a thin enough foam that you can wrap it and it has a good ergo shape. It is not so soft that it squishes down to nothing. It has a bit of firmness just like you want.

(More customer reviews)This seat is lighter than some seat post clamps. It is a beauty, too. However, it is no comfort queen. This was expected. Hopefully, as I ramp up the mileage in the spring, my butt will toughen up. On the other hand, I've always have had good luck with flites -- which are not exactly spring supported brooks. Where flites tend to be narrow, almost hatchet like, this seat has a very flat top, so your sit bones are going to ride on top of it rather than snugging down. For just a few grams more and a several dollars less, you can get a more comfortable seat, and as comfort has a big impact on efficiency & performance, that might be a smarter choice. The real measure of this seat will be on the back side of a century. I will re-post further into the season. In the meantime, for weight and star wars styling... this seat is very cool.

Fizik Bar Gel Perforated Microtex with Four Pieces (Black) Review

(More customer reviews)My initial impressions of this system were very positive, and I still think the gel is a great product, but after 300 miles and a month of use, the tape started to curl up at the edges and got a slick, smooth sheen on it where I normally rest my palms. The tape feels great, it has great tooth, breathes well, and is just junk.
My advice is to buy the Fi:zik gel system without the tape, and use Torelli Moda Chunky tape for a really great system. My riding partner's Moda Chunky is 3 yrs old and still going strong. For us, 3 years is over 10,000 miles.

I also race and it holds up fine. the Leather could be use a little more grip, but maybe that will come with time.

(More customer reviews)Anyone who is current with trends in cycling equipment knows that Fizik is one of the popular makers of road bike saddles. Saddle purchase is as personal as your own sit bones and for many cyclists, seeking the right saddle is a quest over time - and if you find the right saddle for your needs you stick with it - until upon seat wear replacement you find your seat has been discontinued - and then the quest resumes. I ride 3 times a week about 15 miles and 25 miles on the weekend and the personal goal is eventually to do a century. I cycle for exercise and endurance and not for speed (I'm in my 50's)and ride a Specialized Roubaix. My reason for sharing this is to put more context into what kind of person bought and uses the saddle. When first getting on the bike after installing the seat, my first thought was whether the seat was too hard. However, upon riding with it I find that it is very comfortable and I really like it. I will update my review after I do a 50 miler and then a metric century as what is comfortable over 25 miles mat vary over 50 miles, 64 miles, and 100 miles. So far it does not disapoint!
