(More customer reviews)But my wife gives them five because she likes their look. As a previous reviewer said, these are great if your goal is to preserve or achieve a retro look. If not, spend a few more dollars and get some Tektros instead.
Pros:
- Vintage-esque look
- They work fine
- Inexpensive
Cons:
- No barrel adjuster
- They seem to flex a bit
- The overall quality is so-so
- They would look cheesy on a modern bike
Their biggest weakness in my opinion is the lack of a barrel adjuster. If you don't have an adjuster at the brake or cable hanger, you can't fine-tune your brakes. Of course that's part of the old-school style and neither the product photo nor description imply the presence of one. It's just one of those things you might not think about before buying but that will bother you in usage.
The bottom line: I would recommend them if you're going for a retro look, but not otherwise.

(More customer reviews)I have wrist problems and big hands. On top of that I've had surgery on both my lower back and neck. So I've had to set my bike up to allow me to sit more upright in the saddle. These grips are wonderful because they actually transfer weight from my wrist joints to my palms and they allow me to hang on while keeping my wrists relatively straight rather than bent. I find that they also offer great grip even when my hands are sweaty (I'm not a big fan of riding with gloves during the Summer). Now about big hands: I find that with regular grips I feel like I'm hanging onto a broomstick. With these, my hands wrap around comfortably and my fingers don't touch my palm the way they do with regular round grips. I also had no trouble positioning brake and shift levers with these grips. Every bike I ever own from now on will be equipped with these grips. If you don't have big hands, I would see how these grips could be difficult to grasp. I believe they offer these in a smaller size.

It will take some time adjusting them to the right position for your palms, but once you figure it out they will feel just right. Reduce tape issues a little. I may have to trim. Should be no problem mounting as they open wide on a 'hinge' fasten with lightweight clamps.

Fizik Bar Gel Perforated Microtex with Four Pieces (Black) Review

(More customer reviews)My initial impressions of this system were very positive, and I still think the gel is a great product, but after 300 miles and a month of use, the tape started to curl up at the edges and got a slick, smooth sheen on it where I normally rest my palms. The tape feels great, it has great tooth, breathes well, and is just junk.
My advice is to buy the Fi:zik gel system without the tape, and use Torelli Moda Chunky tape for a really great system. My riding partner's Moda Chunky is 3 yrs old and still going strong. For us, 3 years is over 10,000 miles.

I received this handle bar in Black and this was better for me I'm not complaining.
This Handle bar gives you diferent hand position during rides, that is crucial when you ride long distances, like touring.
Good cosntruction overall, good paint quality, not heavy
The only complain is the width, 580mm, I'm used to use a wider handle bar, 650mm at least, but I can't find any wider. I know it before the buy, thats the reason I don't drop the stars for this issue.
This type of handle bar is dificult to find dont't hesitate to buy it here
