(More customer reviews)Excellent build quality. Easy to use. Flip the cap and unscrew the hose to extend. It's also very easy to switch between Schrader (default) and Presta. My only wish would be for a way to lock it in its compressed (closed) form, but that's pretty minor and I don't know if any other pumps offer that. This is my first mini pump.
I added the photo to show that this is the new (2010) model. I almost didn't order for fear of getting the old model.
UPDATE: The pump is held closed while in the mount.

Bell Airstrike 2100 Floor Pump Review

(More customer reviews)Just received it and put to good use. It made really quick work of inflating the tires in my bikes - mountain bike to 40 psi and speed bike to 80 psi - a few strokes and I was done. Far easier than the little portable pump I had.
The construction feels nice and solid. The valve has both Presta and standard valves.
The pressure gauge is at the top of the pump, so it's easy to see while pumping.
I should note that the pressure gauge starts at 30 psi, so you wont' be able to measure anything below that, though of course you would still be able to inflate things to below 30. Not a problem though, as bikes use a minimum of 40 psi.
The hose clips onto the pump cylinder for easy storage.
I'm looking forward to years of use.

Pumps up tires/tubes with Shrader valves OK.
The Presta valve side of the twin head does not work properly with short stemmed Presta valves. It seems that the pump nozzle has difficulty in forming a good seal with short stemmed Presta valves. The pump will only pump up to around 75 PSI into the tire/tube. Pressures beyond 75 PSI appear to "seal" the valve, which prevents further tire/tube inflation. The extra pressure just pressurizes the pump hose only!
Pumping to higher pressures is a bit difficult. Especially when compared to easier working pumps such as Specialized and Blackburn brands which I have also.
Overall it is an average pump.
Not recommended for use with short stemmed Presta valves.

(More customer reviews)I bought the Pocket Rocket DX around a month ago, after spending a long time looking for the right pump online and in stores. This is the first pump I've had, so I can't compare it with any other pump. However, I did read many reviews before buying, so you can safely assume that there are many people who agree with me!
I looked for two things - first, it had to be small and light, since I wanted to be able to slip it into my backpack and use it to pump up both my bike and my soccer ball. Second, it had to do the job pumping up my (mountain) bike, otherwise it would be completely useless! Therefore, I only looked at mini and frame pumps.
Having used the pump frequently (I bike to school every day), I am quite satisfied with it. It is smaller and much lighter than I expected and comes with an interchangeable Presta/Shrader valve head, so I can use whichever one I want. It takes around 150 strokes to get a tyre upto pressure, which sounds like a lot but is quite reasonable for a pump this size. The only (minor) issue is that the pump usually does not deliver the pressures I want. Now that could very well be because I stop at around 150 strokes, but I am too lazy to keep pumping beyond that, so I find myself using the pump quite often (once every week, but ideally I should be pumping once every 3-4 days).
But in all, this is a great little pump for the price (~$20). I am not a bike enthusiast as such, so I'd rather not invest on a more expensive pump while this one does the job. If your needs are similar to mine, you should definitely consider this pump.

Serfas FP-606 Dual Stage Floor Pump Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this pump at my LBS because I needed it like, now, and I have not been disappointed. I have had to use it on multiple occasions, from either totally flat tires after changing or repairing a tube (twice now), or just pumping up another 10 or 20 pounds on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. The double setting allows a lot of air to quickly pump up a tire to about 60 psi, and then I switch it over to pump up to 110 or 120 psi. There are two openings on the end for both types of valves, and both work flawlessly. I have learned though that I do not have to push the connector too far onto the valve stem, just a little way on and it pumps fine, which makes a big difference when trying to remove it when your done. I have checked the pump accuracy to my accu-gage tire gauges and they are spot on. The only thing I don't like is the loud pop of air escaping from the pump tube when I remove the pump from the tire valve, this is normal, but just letting you know to expect it if you haven't bought one before. The price is right, the pump works great, what else is there.

This is an amazing pump, very small and works really good. I had other pumps before, but for my racing bike I need to put over 100PSI air. No mini pump could go near 80PSI. This one goes as much as 160PSI according to the specs. When I tried it on my bike, I could go over 100 easily. My tires can take a maximum of 120PSI, so I didn't try further. It is neatly built, with high quality material. The barrel is brushed aluminum, and very narrow in diameter. Towards the end of pumping it gets warm, but it works like a charm. Thanks Topeak! If I lose I'd definitely buy again.

Planet Bike Mini Versair Dual Action Bike Pump Review

(More customer reviews)The previous reviewer is right: you need to unscrew the plastic piece a bit, then attach it, then screw it tight, and then pump. I own this and the Morph G and like the Morph better. I think it pumps better and it has a built-in gauge. The only time I plan to use a frame pump is in an emergency, and in that case it's nice to just have a built-in gauge. A floor pump like the Joeblow Pro imo is lot easier to use if you're checking/filling the tires before going out.
An important thing about this pump is that it attaches to the cup holder screws. The plastic is fairly thick and you may find that the screws to your cup holder aren't long enough to hold both the pump and the cup holder-- it happened to me. It also may get in the way of certain pedals, though I can't say that for sure. The Morph on the other hand may not work with some curved women's frames because there's no good place to attach it.
Planet Bike's customer service is very good and helpful, I just don't think this particular unit is all that great.

After checking out the difference in price I decided I would not use the pump often enough to spend the extra money. A month or so later I ended up flatting and was dreading using the pump, to my surprise this pump was so solid and so fast that I told every cyclist I know to buy one and I forever tucked away my CO2 cartridges.
Although I do not recommend you use this pump daily, it is strong enough to handle the use. Buy this pump without hesitation, you will not regret you purchase. I've been riding mountain bikes for over 20 years and this is the first pump I've used that was worth recommending.

Topeak Turbo Morph Bike Pump with Gauge Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this pump after looking at the advice on [...]. I've pumped up to 85psi, and could have probably gone higher. It does get harder to pump as you get in the higher pressure ranges, of course, and I don't know how my strength compares to potential purchasers, but I guess it would be important to know that you do have to push hard, and I'm a 48-yr old, 260 lb guy who enjoys weightlifting. I'm not saying it's excessively tough, and I cannot make a comparison to other pumps. I'm simply trying to make everyone aware of what to expect. For me, I think it's great.
I really appreciated all the extra features:
1) the flexible hose makes it easy to pump without worrying about stressing the valve
2)the pressure gauge prevents you from losing pressure when you take off the pump, check pressure with a separate guage, put the pump back on, take it off again to check pressure, etc. You just pump up to the desired pressure and you're done!
3) the fold out handle and foot stabilizer helps you get up to the higher pressures more easily.
I like it. My only recommedations for a better design would be a longer foot stabilizer (I have size 13 feet), an easier to read pressure gauge (as I said, I'm 48, so my eyes ain't so good anymore!), and better directions (virtually non-existent documentation -- I know we're talking about an air pump here, but since I hadn't ridden in a long time until we started bike-training for a 160 mile ride I wasn't "pump-savvy." I thought you should have the lever in the "up" position to put it on the valve, and push it down to secure it when pumping. Turns out it's the opposite!)

This pump is well made smaller in diameter than the original British pumps which is good and actually work to pump up a tire. They are light weight and fit the frame bosses on English 3 speeds well. Some people may find them a bit loose fitting. They may not be incredibly tight in between the frame bosses, but they will not fall out nor do they rattle. This Problem can be over come with a brass schrader to presta adapter found anywhere. Just thread it lightly into the end of the hose, and the extra length and rubber gasket inside the adapter make the pump fit MUCH tighter. All in all it's a great pump to finish a restoration and one goes on every bicycle I restore.

(More customer reviews)This is a nice little lightweight pump. Like most mini-portable pumps, don't expect it to be able to pump tires to 80 psi. It'll just give you enough pressure to get home and no more. My tests at home demonstrated I can pump it about 60 psi before I got all tired out. If you bend the lock lever 135 degrees (not 90 degrees), the seal between the valve and the pump is quite good, even to 100 psi. However, when I pumped my tire to 100 psi using a hand pump, and tried to top it off with this pump, I could not push any more pressure into the tire.. Using this pump makes you appreciate a floor pump! It does not have a 2 way stroke action. But since you need to brace against something strong, the push-only action is actually beneficial. I recommend you practice pumping at home because your state-of-mind would be quite different somewhere on a road far from home. I found a good stable position is to lay the wheel on the ground and use my multi-tool to shim the head. This allows you to use gravity to push the air in.
I like the feature with the two heads for both valve types. It stores securely on the seatpost waterbottle braze-on's on my bike. With the velcro, never worried about it falling off my bike and had not dropped it once in over 1000 miles of riding. I'm planning to get another for my other bike.

The nozzle kept flying off of the valve and would not stay on the valve long enough for the tire to be inflated. It would only inflate the tire halfway, until it got difficult to push down and then the nozzle would fly off with each hard pump. I returned it.

(More customer reviews)I had a chance to use the pump for the first time the other day when I caught a flat. I was able to pump the air back in with a decent amount of ease, but noticed that the preasure gauge was not working. The gauge looks a bit delicate so it could have broke or just come like that. I'm dissapointed since this is specifically why I bought the pump so I could inflate my tires to the right psi. Other than that, it's a good pump. The mounting bracket works well on my lower bar and doesn't interfere with pedaling. Good luck with your pump.
