(More customer reviews)At 1900 grams, this wheel set is pretty heavy when the average wheels now are 1200 - 1500 grams. They ride well at high speeds. I have read other reviews saying this is good for heavy riders. They have been trouble free, but I only weight 130 lbs. I will probably upgrade to the Ksyrium SL.

(More customer reviews)These tires work well for an every day commuter. The width is good for riding on bad streets, but are still narrow enough to allow for plenty of speed. They are an excellent value for folding tires. they have minimal tread, which i find to be the best for most conditions. Aesthetically they are appealing to those who like plain black tires, and they don't even have a multicolor label. They are also made in japan, which is a plus in my book.

(More customer reviews)I got this tire to match a vittoria rubino pro tire that I got secondhand for a good price, which has the same black and white stripe pattern. More or less, this tire has given me no probelms and matches the rubino pro nicely, but costs waaay less.
No word on skids or anything for fixies, but I don't think I'd recommend it if you want them to last since they don't have the kevlar belts or whatever. I don't know much about that, so maybe that doesn't matter.
Just a good bargain tire that looks nice.

this exceptionally lightweight clincher is basically an open tubular made by hand in italy and available in a few nice colours. its weight is lighter than most racing clinchers out there and because of its minimal material it does wear faster than other tires will but surprisingly it has, after thousands of miles still doing what it does best which is to roll like a professional racing tire should.
very low rolling resistance and very lightweight makes this rubber an absolute pleasure for climbing and acceleration.
fabulous tire.
if you do any urban riding i recommend using these tires with a mister tuffy tube liner to avoid punctures. havent had any problems in that department though so i give this tire my full recommendation.

(More customer reviews)At mile 9 of the North Fork Century in Long Island New York I got a blow out on my front wheel. I didn't know that this had happened except that I saw all of the green goo shooting out of the hole. I stopped a couple of seconds later and within about a minute the hole had sealed. There was minimal loss of tire pressure. I was able to get to complete the ride that day and I was able to use the tire the following weekend. All without having to refill my tube. Amazing.
All the tubes I buy now are Slime Lites.

Was disappointed somewhat in the fit of the last tube I installed - the thorn resistant portion of the tube didn't fit well against the outside of the tire, tending to spin to the sidewall.

So far, so good. Been about a month now since initially airing them up and the tires feel almost as firm as they did at the beginning. I checked the old tubes for air leaks and they didn't have any, they just would not hold air pressure adequately and
had to be aired up often.

(More customer reviews)I've been commuting for years and have thousands of miles on my bike. I've been through about every tire out there and have settled on the Gator Skin as my number one choice.
I ride on city streets with lots of debris. I've never yet flatted with the Gator Skins. Also, they are pretty light weight for having such good protection from flats. Finally, they grip very well in rainy conditions. OK, they are rather pricey but they are the only tires I buy now.

Velocity 700C B43 Track Fixed Gear Wheelset Green Review

(More customer reviews)Not a bad wheel similar to all the other super deep v wheels out there. Good Velocity marketing posting on Blogs to promote wheel. I never heard of Velocity until the fixed gear craze. I'm not sure what events they sponsor or what Pro Teams use their products. Pretty colors but I would think they would use anodizing to justify their higher costs rather than candy colored powder coating. I would also think they would source a hub manufacturer that wasn't in Asia. The other Deep V wheel manufacturers are Asia based so if Asia can make a superior hub than Asia can make a superior rim. Velocity supposed to have a great source of aluminum in Australia so I wonder if they use their aluminum to make the hubs?

Not a 5 because tread wear seems excessive, least ways compared to a previous, much more expensive set of Schwable XR's. I will be buying another set of the Contis soon.
